2017 online writing exchange reflections

Online Writing Exchange Reflection The 2017 online writing exchange was great. It really helped me become a better writer. It made me more confident in my writing. It also helped me a lot with using bolder words that show and not tell. I think that having someone who knows what they’re doing other than my teacher reading my work was really helpful. Something that really helped me feel comfortable sharing my writing was that my partner shared some of her experiences that were really relatable. I also think that meeting our partner in real life helped a lot. I liked how my partner gave me compliments, but also criticized me. I think that if I only got compliments I wouldn’t become a better writer. I also liked how my partner didn’t do all of the work for me. Sometimes they would point out a specific mistake and say look for that mistake in other parts of your writing. I think little things like that really helped me to become a better writer. Overall I think that the 2017 online writing e…

2016 football season

2016 Football Season I’ve always dreamed of winning a state championship. Last year’s football team showed me that with hard work and determination you can make anything happen. It all started two years ago in our first round playoff game against Columbus Scotus. We got humiliated. Even though we were crushed, it didn’t stop us from getting right back to work. It started in the summer, lifting weights every day and going to camps almost every week. I noticed how we all worked together and encouraged each other to get better every day. We would say things like “come on one more one more,” or “keep going.” In the blink of an eye it was already football season. I noticed how even though we started the season unranked, we still knew that we could compete with every team we played. At the end of the regular season we were undefeated; we were starting to get a lot of hype. Even with all of the attention we didn’t let it get to us and kept working hard every day. We came into the playoffs det…

Coach Classen

Coach Classen Coach Classen has been a very important person throughout my life. Ever since that first day of basketball in 3rd grade he has been there for me. No matter what I will always know that coach has my back on and off the court. Coach Classen is very tall, standing over 6ft. He is also very slim like a fence post. He has black hair with a little bit of grey hair starting to appear. Whenever you see him he will probably be in some sort of North Carolina gear. You will never see him wearing long socks, he wears short socks almost year round. Coach is almost always in a good mood and can turn any bad day to a good one. Coach Classen always strived to make us better. Since day one we have been his students and he has been our teacher. He taught us so much more than just basketball though. He taught us the importance of being excellent leaders and role models. He taught us to be humble and to never underestimate your opponent. All of these things have impacted my life on and off the…
